When Things Don’t Go as Planned

It seems like very little of 2020 has turned out like we wanted.

Coronavirus, Riots, Wild Fires, Job Loss, Events Cancelled…..

My wife and I were looking forward to getting away from some of the crazy for a nice relaxing week in Florida, but Hurricane Sally had other plans.

Thankfully everyone is safe and where we are in Florida didn’t get the brunt of it, but still it meant 2 straight days of being holed up in the beach house rather than enjoying the beach.

What do you do when things don’t go the way you planned?

For me I take comfort in knowing that this season will pass and that the one who planned the whole world has good plans for me.

Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

We might all be going through a valley right now, but if you just keep going you’ll soon be on the mountain top again.

Right now it might look bleak, but God is faithful. He’s brought you out before and He’ll do it again.

Sometimes all you can do is do what Jehoshophat did when he faced the might armies of Moab and Ammon. In 2 Chronicles 20:12 he prays “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

Look up.
