If you’ve read my book Streams of Income you might remember that our business journey started with us selling furniture on Craigslist.
In the beginning, back in 2008, we were only posting in the Dallas Fort Worth area, but once we figured out how to ship furniture all over the country we were posting ads everywhere we could.
Things were going well until one morning in April of 2012 we woke up to find many of our Craigslist ads deleted.
We believe a competitor was using auto flagging software to get our ads deleted.
No matter what we did we couldn’t get those ads to stick in those cities.
About 1/3 of our business instantly vanished.
What I didn’t know at the time was that God already had it all worked out for us. Soon after that, we met my friend and mentor Jim Cockrum who exposed us to the world of Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon).
Now instead of just furniture, we were able to sell all the other items that we had access to because of our furniture business.
The Lord turned our setback into a setup for a much larger opportunity!
What are you going through today that looks like an impossible situation?
Let me encourage you that the Lord was not surprised when that happened and He has already gone into your future and is making a way where there seems to be no way.
During the time of waiting our job is to rest. When I say rest it doesn’t mean to not do anything at all. It means to do what we can about the situation, but to let the Lord handle what we can’t. And it means to resist worry and fear. Trust that He’s got it.
Psalms 62:6 says “He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my
Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.”
So when fear starts to rear its ugly head just say “NO! The Lord is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.”
