“I Could Have Done More”

“I could have done more”

These are the words of Oskar Schindler, the German Industrialist who is credited with saving 1200 Jews by employing them in his enamelware and ammunitions factories.

At the end of the movie “Schindler’s List”, he is presented with a ring from his workers to thank him for saving their lives.  The ring was said to have been inscribed with a Hebrew verse from the Talmud that says “Whoever saves one life saves the world entire”

What does this have to do with making money online or anything I talk about on my podcast “Streams of Income”?

2020 has been challenging to say the least and it seems like everywhere you look is bad news.

It can certainly be depressing.

Here’s one simple thing you can do to instantly get a jolt of joy – find someone else to bless.

I know…it sounds counterintuitive to think that joy would come from helping someone else, but I can attest that there is a special joy that comes from being a blessing to someone else.

We instantly think of money when we say “bless” someone, but it could be a kind word, a note of encouragement, helping someone else start their own business, taking them for coffee…anything that gets the focus off of you and onto someone else.

I’m telling you….this works.  Not only do you instantly receive a shot of joy, but you’re helping someone else at the same time.  Win-Win.

Another reason this movie clip came to mind this morning is that some of you have dreams and goals to be a blessing to others on a large scale.  One of the whys of building your business might be to make this dream come true.

My brother in law and sister in law run an orphanage in Guatemala.  I know that they would love to be able to change the life of every little Guatemalan child, but they’re doing what they can do which is change the lives of those precious kids that have been entrusted to them.

So while they have bigger dreams and goals of affecting more kids they’re being faithful to who God has placed in their home now.

Who has the Lord placed in your circle of influence?  Whose life can you touch today?

Do that.  And remember this from the Jewish Talmud “Whoever saves one life saves the world entire”
