Help! I’m Stuck!

I love reading all the emails you guys send.

For every email I get there are probably 100 other people dealing with the same issue so in this week’s podcast episode I shared a snippet of an email I received from someone who says “I’m really stuck.”

He’s tried and quit several times and says “ I see all these people that started after me prospering and all I have to show for it is a bunch of excuses.….I guess I just can’t get out of my own head.”

So how do you get unstuck when you feel you’re in a rut?

I go much deeper on this in the podcast, but I think one of the major ways to get unstuck is to pay attention to what you’re allowing into your mind and heart.  I think much of this is a battle between our ears.

Proverbs 4:23 says “Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

The words you say, the things you read, the people and messages you

listen to…..all of these are seeds that if allowed to grow they become either a good crop that produces a good harvest in your life or weeds that cause problems.

Think of your heart and mind like a garden.  If you want tomatoes to grow, you care for them properly and do your best to keep pests out.  Do the same with what you allow to enter your heart and mind.

I believe this is one of the major reasons that two students can go through the same training course and one is successful and the other is not.  It’s a mindset.

If you believe you can’t do it or you’re listening to people who are discouraging you or you’re listening to your past which says “You’ve never been successful” it can affect your outcome.

Stop listening to those voices and definitely stop saying negative things that will kill your harvest.  What you say is even more powerful than what you hear.  Speak life over your business.

So here are some practical things you can do to get your mind right:

1) Listen to podcasts and/or read books with positive messages that lift you up and encourage you.

2) Distance yourself from negative people who drag you down and discourage you.

3) Get around positive people who are on the same journey and that encourage you along.

4) Tell yourself that you can do it.  Your words are powerful.

In this week’s podcast episode I go into some other practical steps to getting out of a rut like achieving a quick win that will give you some confidence and momentum. You can listen to this episode here –
