There Is Gold in your backyard
I had the tremendous opportunity to speak at a small internet marketing conference in Denver this past week. My wife was able to come with me and we took some time to sightsee. We were doing some shopping and walked into a small shop that specializes in antique maps and high end gifts. The manager was very friendly and began to chat with us about the store. She told us about the different maps and historical pieces she had. As a history buff it was fascinating, but the whole time I was thinking “Are they selling online?” and “How can I help them?” I can’t shut it off. 🙂 When I meet someone I’m thinking “Is there a way for me to help them with their business or to start a business?”
Do you want to start a business, but don’t know what business to get into?
Here are some tips to help you….
- What is your passion?
Are you a Star Wars junkie? Then how about a business buying selling Star Wars toys and memorabilia? Do you love gardening and know a lot about it? Then maybe a good informational product would be right for you. Whatever your passion is, there is a niche out there for that and an opportunity for you to turn it into a business.
Making money online is not a get rick quick thing. If anyone tells you that if you purchase this one program for the “insanely low price of $17” and tomorrow you’ll have thousands of dollars in your bank account or 10,000 visitors to your website run as fast as you can the other way.
My wife and I didn’t build our business overnight. It took work. That doesn’t mean that you can’t have faster results that someone else, but in most cases you’ll have to get serious about your online business and build it one step at a time.
However building it one step at time doesn’t help when you need money right now to pay the bills or to get that new Ipad.
Here are some suggestions to make some quicker money:
If you’re wanting to sell physical products (anything tangible that must be shipped) on the internet one of the best places to start is Ebay.
There are many reasons, but here are 3 obvious ones:
Ebay is ranked #22 worldwide for traffic and ranked #7 in the US. You can certainly start with your own website, but then you have to drive traffic to it. Ebay already has traffic so why not go where all the people already are?
